The Annual Collection program is used primarily to pay for the upkeep and maintenance of our parish buildings and grounds. This program eliminates the second monthly collection.
Saint Mary Parish owns and maintains a number of buildings – the Church, Rectory, and the School/Parish Hall which is used for religious education and parish events and activities. The Finance Committee has developed a 5-year plan that identifies major capital improvements required to keep our infrastructure sound and in good repair. Deferred maintenance of facilities is far more costly in the long run. Each year the Finance Committee designates which project(s) will be undertaken for the ensuing year and asks each parish family to consider a gift in support of the program. The generosity of parishioners in the past has enabled us to replace the roof on the School/Parish Hall for $250,000, fix the parish flooring, and install a beautiful Corpus. Our most recent major project was the replacement of single pane windows installed in the School/Parish Hall when constructed in the 1950s. This project has also enabled us to install a second means of egress for each classroom in the event of an emergency.
Annual contributions may be made in a single payment, two monthly payments, or by pre-arranged payment plan by contacting the Parish Office at (860) 342-2328 or email at [email protected]
